Tinamaste: A Hidden Gem of Costa Rica
Welcome to Tinamaste, Costa Rica… This tranquil small town with cute pastel coloured houses is nestled in between breathtaking jungle mountains with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. This place is the definition of peaceful and charming. If you want to slow down, get away from tourist filled places and find cooler weather, Tinamaste is the perfect spot.
Tinamaste, Costa Rica: Pura Vida
You can find this hidden gem a beautiful 30 minute scenic drive from Dominical. When walking down the sidewalks of Tinamaste you really start to understand the ‘Pura Vida’ lifestyle. Life is simple, slow, calm and totally enveloped in the present moment here. The people are friendly, the architecture is unique and colorful, with sidewalks covered in beautiful flowers, Costa Rican flora and vibes that are incredibly serene.

You can find several local restaurants here that are very inviting with great prices and friendly faces!
Come hang out at what is known as the “Tea House” and learn all about Essene Order of Natural Mystics. The centre offers health consultations, massage therapy, spinal tune-ups, spiritual counselling, various health retreats, entheogenic ceremonies among other holistic services! They also sell sacred herbs, nutritional supplements, art, instruments and other goodies that I will let you explore more for yourself!
Tinamaste Farmers Market
Every Tuesday there is a farmers market full of awesome people, fresh fruits and veggies, fresh pressed orange juice, delicious chocolate cacao treats, homemade vegan goodies, turmeric tea, handcrafted jewelry and clothes, natural essential oils and other organic body care products.
Feria Tinamaste is open every Tuesday from 8am-12pm with over 40 vendors selling organic and natural foods. You are guaranteed to meet amazing, down to earth people at the Tinamaste market because the people in this area are so friendly, warm hearted and genuine. It’s easy to spend several hours at the market shopping, eating tasty food, making new friends and jamming out to some music.
Small business owners and local farmers that live around the area bring their fresh produce, passions and creations to the Tinamaste market. It’s the second largest organic market in Costa Rica, therefore planning your visit during a Tuesday is highly encouraged!
Souvenir El Paso
Make sure to stop by the Souvenir El Paso before you leave. You can find some seriously cool indigenous Costa Rican handcrafted jewellery, masks, bowls, hammocks and more. These are not your typical key chain souvenirs that’s for sure!
Tinamaste may be a small town but there is a rich culture here and many things to explore in and around the area!
